nokia’s giving me a headache. I just bought my 6300 phone last June 9. After a month, it started shutting down by itself and would not reboot. went to nokia care center, demanded for replacement but they just fixed the hardware… and the bad thing about it is i waited for a MONTH to get it (they said only 2-3 weeks) and NEVER did I get a phone call or update until i complained angrily… (why must they ALWAYS wait when you’re ANGRY before doing something????) Anyhow.. after 2 months, the phone shut down and wouldn’t reboot again!!! I demanded for a replacement already and it’s still being evaluated… WAAH! I hate this!!! Good thing I backed up the phone… but the bad thing is, I have to get a NOKIA to have my contacts updated again…:(

- that it’s natural to love
- there’s no guarantees for tomorrow - therefore - live like it’s the first day and the last day of your life
- hang on to bad feelings only for 2 minutes - after, don’t allow them to hang on to you
- it’s good to be good… because in the end, you reap what you’ve sown
- the “regrets of the past” and the “fear of the future” are only what our mind conceives - don’t let them affect the “PRESENT”… and it’s a gift… thereby the name “present” :)
- it’s not about winning and then hindering others’ opportunity to score points - it should always be WIN-WIN
- it’s not the rules, but the WAY you play the game

*to be updated as i go along life :)

The Reproductive Health bill has a lot of debatable issues - over its nature, its purpose and its hidden agenda. As Catholics and as a citizen of this nation, we have the moral and civic responsibility to be informed of our personal decisions and where our hard-earned tax money goes to therefore I urge you to read Pro-life’s position paper on this bill that can be found in http://prolife.org.ph1.

My focus will be on contraception, specifically on pills, as numerous forms are beginning to be available in the market today. I have established in my first article where life begins – from the union of the egg and sperm called zygote which natural course is to implant itself in the walls of the woman’s uterus. What does contraceptives do? It prevents the blastocyst (the one-week old zygote) from implanting itself in the walls of the woman’s uterus. When in fact the blastocyst is already a life, contraceptives then becomes abortion. Abortion is defined as the loss of fetal life (newadvent.org)2, and if one takes a life, is it not - murder? And is not murder which is defined as the unlawful killing of a person with malice aforethought3 – is something we all should be concerned about? In ARTICLE 248, Sec. 1 of the Revised Penal Code of the Philippines: “any person who, not falling within the provisions of Article 246 shall kill another, shall be guilty of murder and shall be punished by reclusion temporal, if committed with any of the following attendant circumstances: 1. With treachery, taking advantage of superior strength, with the aid of armed men, or employing means to weaken the defense or of means or persons to insure or afford impunity.”

And yet, we seem to undervalue the gravity of murder in contraceptives and instead Pro-RH groups mask this as “reproductive health”, a means of birth spacing, to control population, and other propagandas.

If murder is not enough reason, think about the major side effects of the pill – increased risk in ability to conceive later in life due to the damage of cilia or hair-like projections that carries the fertilized egg to the uterus, increase risk in ectopic pregnancies due to the pill that produces high levels of estrogen and progesterone to prevent “pregnancy”4, and increase risk of breast cancer in certain groups of women – results from studies from Schlesselman, 1989; Thomas, 1989; Mann, 1990.5”, all these notwithstanding the hundreds of common side effects of the pill.

Say NO to the RH bill. Don’t promote murder. Be informed! Vote against the bill online at http://petitiononline.com/lifeph/petition.html and promote life!

Insets –

1) Contraceptives by its etymology are Contra (Anti, against) and Conception- (Life).

2) Do you know that despite having access to contraceptives, abortion rate is still increasing? “K. Edgardh found that despite free abortions, free contraceptive counseling, low cost condoms and oral contraceptives, and over-the-counter emergency contraception (EC), Swedish teen abortion rates rose to 22.5 per thousand from 17 per thousand between 1995 and 2001.”6

Prolife Series (1 of 3): When does life start?

By Arlene C. Thay

“I feel that the greatest destroyer of peace today is abortion, because it is a war against the child, a direct killing of the innocent child, murder by the mother herself.”

“And if we can accept that a mother can kill her own child, how can we tell other people not to kill one another?”

- Blessed Mother Teresa of Calcutta

We’ve heard what Rep. Edcel Lagman of Albay has to say on the Reproductive Health and Population Development Act of 2008 he authored. Before we even attempt to dissect the bill and raise strong points, we must first try to understand what is the value of a human life? How must one protect the dignity of a human life? More importantly, what is the Church’s stand on life?

As Catholics, we are called to a culture of life. Quoting from the United States Bishop’s Statement of Faithful Citizenship: Civic Responsibility for a New Millennium in October 1999, “Every human person is created in the image and likeness of God. The conviction that human life is sacred and that each person has inherent dignity that must be respected in society lies at the heart of Catholic social teaching… We believe that every human life is sacred from conception to natural death.” (Ibid., p. 13).

Created n the image and likeness of God

“So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.” (Gen 1:27)

God alone creates a human life – absolutely unique, never to be duplicated, an individual fashioned by God. In Prolife.Org’s website: “On the question of when human life really begins, authorities from around the world in the fields of medicine, law, ethics, and the social sciences met together in the First International Conference on Abortion held in Washington, D.C. (October, 1967) and unanimously concluded that: “The majority of our group could find no point in time between the union of sperm and egg (or, at least, the blastocyst stage) and the birth of the infant, at which point we could say that this was not a human life. The changes occurring between implantation, a six-week embryo, a six-month fetus, a one-week- old child, or a mature adult are merely stages of development and maturation.”

The message is clear. The Church is clear. And Part 2 will discuss why we must not support the RH Bill by Edcel Lagman.

i’ve learned that unconditional love is an act that you do without asking for anything in return. the best kind is giving to a person you don’t know because no way can that person thank you for the good deed.

i have an officemate who gave birth at 7 months, and her baby is in the incubator up to this day. the last that i heard from her husband is that each day, the incubator cost was P10-P15k. I am not sure… so please don’t quote me on that :) i just know that earning a little above minimum wage is not enough for the costs incurred.

that is why… i’m asking if you want to try a little unconditional love… i figured… i have about 147 contacts… and if one person gives a minimum of P100, then we would have raised P14,700 already. and if some contacts of yours want to give as well, then we would have raised more… but the beauty of it is that we would have given without somebody knowing we gave!

her payroll account is 1550030963, banco de oro, cecile marquez.

i ask you in all your generosity to help. she is such a great person and having to go through all this is also difficult. thanks in advance!

i also have a request… don’t tell me if you donated… that way, we are surely working on unconditional love for a fellow sister in Christ!

Thanks and God bless!

Make Your Joy Appointments!

Kai… we’re actually mapping it out already! :) thanks for letting me catch up on life! :)

Two weeks ago, I asked you to make your Joy List. (And man, I had fun reading your Joy Lists! Awesome.)

Today, I’ll be asking you to take the next step: Make Joy Appointments.

Writing your Joy List is only the start. Unless you make Joy Appointments, nothing much will happen. It will be like everyone’s list of New Year’s resolutions. We know what happens to that.

If you need to be reminded, look at the expensive exercise equipment lying somewhere in your house, collecting dust. Did you know that 97% of all exercise equipment end up this way?

Friends, here are the 5 Steps to filling your life with more joy.

Step #1: Write your Joy List

If you haven’t made your Joy List yet, I urge you to do it now. Define what makes you happy. Define what you love. Define what makes you peaceful, whole, fulfilled, excited, and happy. (Please read my previous article, “What Is Your Joy List?”)

Step #2: Choose one item in your Joy List

Don’t try to do them all of them at the same time—or you’ll get overwhelmed. Start with one item first! Check what you feel is the most important activity that gives you the most joy. It’s an activity that you want more of in your life. It could be playing time with your kids, or having solo time with God, or curling up on the couch for some reading time. The choice is yours.

Step #3: Make a Joy Appointment in your weekly or monthly calendar

Invest in your joy! Write this activity in your calendar as a regular item in your week. For example, when I got married 10 years go, I wanted to date the greatest girl of my galaxy once a week. And so for the past 10 years, I’ve been faithful to this promise. How? Easy. I put it on a specific day and time of the week. So I don’t forget. It’s that simple. (I won’t tell you what day that is. Here’s the reason why: I get hundreds of invitations to speak every month. And I don’t want people to tell me, “Bo, we picked this day because we know it’s your date night with your wife. Just this once, please speak to our group?” The answer is still No.) Unless I’m out of the country or World War III breaks out, I won’t miss my date night with my wife. She’s my joy.

Step #4: Choose a second Joy and make another Joy Appointment

When the first activity you chose is already consistent—like you’ve done it for three times already—go back to your Joy List. Check a second item that’s important to you. Repeat: This is something you want to have more in your life. Make this a Joy Appointment too. Regularize it in your weekly or monthly calendar. Make it immovable.

Step #5: Repeat the Process

Get a third item from your Joy List. And a fourth. And a fifth. Believe me, after three to six months, you won’t recognize yourself. You want to pinch yourself and say, “Is this me? Is this my life? Gosh, I’m filled with so much joy!”

Remember: If you don’t determine what you’ll do in your week, others will do that for you. The TV producers would want you to watch TV. The food advertisers would want you to keep eating their food. The video game makers would want you to keep playing their games.

Define your joy.

And do it.

Okay, you’re turn. In the comments section below, write down the one thing in your Joy List that you’ll make a Joy Appointment. Write down the day, date, and time you’ll make it happen!

May your dreams come true,

Bo Sanchez

i am resigning na effective mid-October and i’m tendering the resignation tomorrow. it’s with a real heavy heart that i do this. but this is what God wanted to do. today, he asked me “how else can you LOVE me MORE?”

the reasons why i’m leaving? well, basically, first and foremost, God called me. i’m starting my hospital ministry. second, i want to have time for myself, my family and my friends. third, i want to earn big so i can use MORE of my time and resources for God later on in life after I laid the foundation in my financial life.

when i thought about leaving, God has given me so many messages, so many blessings and so many insights. He did not only do that, but He was quick in giving me affirmations.

it really is not a popular decision - after all, there’s no guarantee that i make it. but i know God is allowing me to experience this for something bigger.

please pray for me please. i’m going to need it. A LOT.

and those within the industry or retail, please help me contain this information here. i don’t want to disrupt everything yet as i will be giving the company more than 30 days to find my replacement.
