After hearing mass at Hua Ming, we went to Panaad to see the sights and sounds of Negros Occidental. It’s like a small city of wonders. I love that they have this - showcasing the different cities and its products in one area. After lunch, we went to Balay Negrese and Balay na Bato - both are ancestral houses. We went to 21 restaurant for some Batchoy and went back to Tita Vina to rest. After, Steph, Zo and Paul left for Manila already while the rest of us waited for Fr. Noli for dinner plans. We had dinner at Northwest Inn where we talked about the convention and our comments and thoughts. We also asked Sheila to meet with us - she was there for a reunion naman :)

The next day, we ate at Bob’s and bought pasalubong. :) Will post pics soon. :)

Overall, it was a very good trip. I really enjoyed a lot. There were a lot to see naman pala in Bacolod as opposed to just eating. It’s a really nice and quiet city but it left deep memories…

April 18, 2009

It was the last day of the convention. I woke up early and took some shots. I also reflected quite a lot. I was in such a prayerful mode after the praise and worship the night before. :) I’ve thought about the breakthroughs I had - the cable walk (climbing the bamboo ladder which was 30 ft high, walking the cable and jumping 30 ft high!!!), getting out of my comfort zone, getting to know more people, and just connecting deeply with God. It really felt so great.

After taking pictures - it was rush, rush, rush as we had to go to Hua Ming for the closing Mass. After that, we had lunch then went off to the Cathedral, the Plaza, to SM Bacolod (ok, pathetic - but at least i didn’t go to check out any store) - back to Hua Ming, then we went to the Ruins. The Ruins was built in the 1920’s. It was a majestic house which had Italian architecture - the official site is http://theruins.multiply.com :) I really loved the place!!!! They had to burn it down during the Japanese Rule because they were afraid it will be used by the Japanese as a headquarter. A year ago, the Ruins was reconstructed to what it is today. I love the history of the place, as well as the facade. Ang galing lang talaga. :) After, we had dinner at Chicken House North, had cakes at Calea (we had 9 slices!!!! we each had a bite of each other’s choices) then bonded na sa house ni Tita Vina.

Pictures - from Paula, from DLSR… mine I will upload in another post. :) Mga hula shots ko. :)

The YA’s went to Jomabo - about 4 hours from where we came from! It was actually a very nice island. I just wish it was well-maintained. But it was fun naman. Bonding session with Joan, picture taking with all the YA… and taking pictures from my broken LCD cam (without a viewfinder!!!) so all these shots were hula lang… :)

Bonding with Erika and Paula over Kun Kaya Toast, the PAL airplane ride and the very “felt” landing, we were finally in Bacolod! Bacolod’s airport in Silay was really nice! Too bad we weren’t able to get some shots but it was very modern and clean. Although there’s a problem with flies right now because of the nearby chicken farms, the airport is still very nice :)

We headed to Jan Young’s house where we will be staying the night. We had Chicken Inasal and all sorts of barbecue. After that, we bonded with Fr. Noli and Fr. Gary at Kuppa. As if our dinner was not enough, we had gelato (i had black sesame and hazelnut), sans rival and two pizzas!!!! We asked what we could do in Bacolod and everyone’s answer was “Eat!” and yes, we ate. and ate. and ate. :)

That night, we also had DSLR lessons from Fr. Gary too. :)

Day 2 posting soon…
